The Finance and Accounting Intern is responsible for assisting with financial record-keeping, budgeting, audits, and reporting while ensuring accuracy and compliance. This role also includes data analysis, administrative support, and opportunities for professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and organize financial records by logging transactions, updating ledgers, and ensuring accuracy.
  • Review financial statements, spot trends, and provide insights to support business decisions.
  • Assist with audits by gathering documents, checking records for accuracy, and ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Help with budgeting and forecasting by collecting data, entering figures into financial models, and analyzing budget differences.
  • Prepare financial reports and presentations by creating charts, summarizing data, and ensuring clarity.
  • Handle administrative tasks like filing, copying documents, and scheduling meetings.
  • Take part in training sessions and seek mentorship to support learning and professional growth.

Position Details:

  • Employment Type: Internship, hourly
  • Schedule: Full-time during the summer (Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, 40 hours per week); flexible hours during the school year based on class schedule.

Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • Previous internship or coursework in finance or accounting is a plus but not required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and financial software is beneficial.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in financial data entry and analysis.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Effective communication and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced setting.
