Overview

Job Overview: Atlas Van Lines is seeking an experienced Trailer Mechanic to join our Atlas Terminal Company/Shop team! The candidate will be responsible for repairing equipment in a safe, timely, cost-effective, and practical manner.

 

The Mechanic’s duties include the following:

 

  • Build, rebuild, and repair all parts of truck, tractor & semi-trailer equipment as required, including lift gates and refrigeration units
  • Diagnose any mechanical, electrical, or other breakdown or failure
  • Read precision instruments such as micrometers, dial indicators, bore gauges, voltmeters, digital multi-meters, calibrators, and other electronic diagnostic tools
  • Troubleshoot and perform failure analysis of the component parts and systems of the truck, truck tractor, trailer, or converter repairs

 

 

Employment Type & Hours: This full-time position will consist of 40 hours per week. Hours fall between 7:30am-4:00pm, M-F with occasional overtime on Saturdays.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of metals to complete repairs
  • Knowledge of DOT, EPA, and OSHA rules and regulations
  • Experience with TMT software is a plus
  • Good reasoning ability and detail-oriented
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees
  • Valid driver’s license (CDL is a plus but not required)
  • Proficient welding skills helpful but not necessary
