Director, Fleet Maintenance

The Fleet Director is responsible for giving direction and procedures to personnel to efficiently repair equipment. Coordinates vehicle availability to other departments, schedules and repairs customer units through collaboration of all shop departments.

Essential duties and responsibilities include: 

• Issue and approve purchase and work orders.
• Communicate maintenance information to agents, drivers and other departments.
• Maintain required weekly and monthly computer reports.
• Select and monitor vendors for parts and service.
• Coordinate pick-up and delivery for sublet repairs.
• Produce estimate for approvals.
• Schedule shop work with agents, other customers, and departments.
• Update and train team on technical safety issues. 

Education and/or Experience

Associate degree, 3-5 years of job-related experience, or equivalent combination of both education and experience are required.  Experience with TMT/Trimble software applications a plus.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Computer Skills

Experience with Spreadsheet and Word Processing software, Microsoft Office, position utilizes TMT/Trimble software applications

Reasoning Abilities

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Travel Requirements

Employees are required to travel 10% of the time throughout the United States and/or Canada.
