Risk Analyst

Atlas is hiring a Risk Analyst to join our Risk Management team!  This position will be responsible for analyzing insurance claims and creating appropriate monthly and quarterly reports. Will assist with all areas of the insurance renewal process as well as processing the invoices to pay fees and insurance premiums.  Supports agents and PVO by responding to insurance coverage questions and issuing Certificates of Insurance.  This role reports to the Director of Risk.

• Send Artworks requirements to agents booking a high value or restricted cargo shipment
• Obtain underwriting information to secure approval from carrier for coverage
• Answer insurance coverage questions

• Works with internal departments to collect data and prepare submissions for insurance policy renewals

• Maintains database of policy information

• Partners with Buildings and Grounds personnel to respond to property loss control requests from property insurance carrier

• Collects loss runs from various sources
• Analyzes claims data and creates monthly and quarterly reports to summarize claims activities and risk mitigation results
• Interprets data to make actionable recommendations that help to reduce the Company’s Total Cost of Risk
• Assists with preparing presentations on Risk Management topics

• Receives and/or returns telephone calls from Agents and PVO to respond to questions about insurance coverage in detail and billing questions

• Receive Certificate of Insurance requests from third parties, assures requested terms and conditions are conforming with Atlas insurance policies and risk requirements

• Resolves issues of non-conforming requests

• Financial duties such as, calculating insurance allocations, prepares quarterly accrual analysis, and annual insurance budget
• Files Work Comp in monopolistic states

Employment Type & Hours: This full-time, exempt position will consist of 40 hours per week. Hours fall between 8:00am and 5:00pm, M-F.  There may be 5% of travel time throughout the United States for this role.

• Associate degree is required, Bachelor degree is preferred in Risk Management, Business, or Finance
• Working knowledge of commercial insurance coverages including worker's comp, pnysical damage, auto & general liability, and non-trucking
• 2-5 years of job-related experience
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Good reasoning ability and detail-oriented
• Advanced knowledge of Database, Spreadsheet, and Word Processing software such as Microsoft Office is required
• Proficient with Office 365 tools such as Teams and OneDrive
• Experience with Risk Management Information Systems
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, agents, and other outside organizations
• Ability to take initiative and manage deadlines and handle multiple priorities simultaneously with minimal supervision
