Atlas is hiring a Claims Administrator to join our Risk Management team!  This position will be responsible for administering the handling of all vehicle/property damage claims including receiving and recording, investigation, degree of liability, negotiation and settlement, subrogation and recovery, and record retention. This role monitors and records the local insurance coverage for Agents and for the Atlas financed trailer units, administers the physical damage surcharge program for PVOs, and aids other areas of Risk Management as needed.


  • Investigating claims
  • Talking to claimants/body shops
  • Reviewing estimates and pictures
  • Requesting checks, charge backs, writing letters, faxes, etc.
  • Working subrogation files, calling insurance adjustors, and negotiating settlements
  • Ensuring proper physical damage insurance coverage for Atlas financed trailer units
  • Administering the physical damage surcharge program for drivers who exceed physical damage claim levels
  • Taking accident reports and records internal software
  • Maintaining record database and physical files
  • Preparing month-end reports


Employment Type & Hours: This full-time, exempt position will consist of 40 hours per week. Hours fall between 8:00am and 5:00pm, M-F.  There may be 2-5% of travel time throughout the United States for this role.

  • Associate degree is required, Bachelor degree is preferred
  • 5-7 years of job-related experience
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good reasoning ability and detail-oriented
  • Strong knowledge of Database, Spreadsheet, and Word Processing software such as Microsoft Office is required
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, agents, and other outside organizations
  • Experience with order processing software such as CMS is required
  • General knowledge of insurance claims process and related state regulations
  • Ability to take initiative and manage deadlines and handle multiple priorities simultaneously with minimal supervision
